10 Tips Before You Go For Monetizing Your Blog

Hey folks...I know you are smart and you all know about blogs and the way it helps in creating a income source apart from all your other income sources.

Here is a small story before I could write really about the title.. I was trying very hard to find a way to monetize through my blog. I applied too many times to Google Adwords. I applied Blogher, amazon affiliates program.. but none of them turned out fruitful...And I came to know about all these monetizing affiliates by the blogger Leslie of Lamberts Lately. She has written a very straight and helpful post on "How I make money Blogging"..

Thanks Leslie for a wonderful post that gave me a LIGHT to the right direction.

From Leslie's blog Lamberts Lately, I got bunch of information on the affiliates.

But are you thinking what am I gonna write even after reading that informative post?? Yes there is little groundwork to do before you get into affiliate programs...
Because just getting into affiliates will not be sufficient to monetize your blog but that groundwork that you will do can really lead in a procedural way...

What am I going to give you?? As the title says "10 tips to monetize your blog", I am going to make gist of 10 tips before you are really ready to go...

Bloggers who have just started blogging and bloggers who seem to struggle in searching guidance to monetize though they are good bloggers will find these tips useful.

Sorry guys for the long story though I mentioned it as small story.. :-p

Ok lets get into the POINT...

1. Navigation: Your blog is all set and you have started blogging good blog posts..What is next?? Did you check for the navigation on your blog?? Who, What, Why and How...these questions should have answers...Wondering what are those..
Who-About You, What-Blog about what, why-why you started blogging or what made you to start blogging and How is the last option that you can be the INSPIRATION / MOTIVATION for your readers that how are you managing the blog to keep it alive and fresh all the way in the middle of your busy day...

2. Design: All color codes, text formatting and alignment come under this element design. Whacky and too many colours on the blog make readers to go out of the blog as soon as they enter. Make it simple but still elegant, readable and legible by choosing right font type and correct font size.

3. Layout: Arrange all the elements in an order. Have minimum columns, ideally two columns and one footer.

4. Page elements: You can have many widgets but make sure that those widget distract your readers from your blog post and gains too much of attention. I was having a gif widget in the corner of the window but I felt somewhere it disturbs me then just think about the readers who come to my blog..So I removed it..Make sure you have necessary and non-distraction elements.

5. Page load time: In this busy world no one has patience to wait if your page takes too much time to load...So try to avoid extra codings put up just for fantasy and avoid annoying your readers to wait...

6. Post style: Don't post always image or visual type of content, because search engine crawlers need some text to be fed so that your blog will be listed on the search engine results

7. Optimisation of image and content, search engine friendly: Yes this part is one of the important points to be followed when you think of your blog to identified by the search engines. When you use image use the alternate text for that image as we generally use images from other sources. What if they remove that image from other sources when you link it on your post. Your post will display a broken image which will make user to wonder whats that image about. So using alternate text for the image will be helpful for your readers to know what image was placed.

8. Engaging with your readers & non-readers: One of the MOST IMPORTANT factors for getting good income through your blog is to drive traffic to your blog. Engaging with your readers is the best possible way but before that you should have a good engagement level with the non-readers also so that they WILL BECOME readers of your blog...How?? Go to your readers' blogs...Keep tracking, reading and commenting the followers of YOUR READERS' blogs. But this should be consistent because if you just start doing it for the sake of initiating reader base and leaving out after getting the readers base, then no one WILL STEP into your blog...Its all reflection man...What You Do is What You Get..

9. Thumbs Up & Bird chirps: I know you will guess it right...Yes thats about sharing on social media..Dont SIT STILL after creating a blog post. Come on..its your blog post you have to share it across the board...and  YOUR ARE THE ADVERTISER, MARKETER for your writing... Posting & Waiting for someone to give you THUMBS up chirpies is like making ready all for cooking and not switching on the gas stove burner...Right?? I know you got it in a right sense...

Thinking what it is...EVERYONE knows about this...
but still THE MOST IMPORTANT point is CONTENT....
Without giving a good content, no reader will be ready to read your or continue reading your blog...
As always CONTENT is KING.. no matter which medium it goes on...no matter who writes...

I believe these are not just tips but also it could be a checklist before you could get into monetizing your blog....
Do you think that there are some more to be added to the above list?? If so please share on the comment section which will be helpful for many newbie bloggers....

Spread the word if you find this useful sharing....

Keep smiling....Happy Blogging...
